Forgive me for not posting a Mystery History photo this week.
My very dear friend Jan Curran passed away last night. She had been battling cancer for the better part of 15 years. She kept fighting it and winning, then would get knocked down again and claw her way back.
I wrote about her in
this 2008 blog post and
this one last year.
Rest in peace, my dear.

I remember your post about Jan. I'm sorry, Ann. I know you'll miss her.
I wondered about Jan. My condolences
I am sorry for your loss.
This, losing more friends as one ages, stinks.
I had a long phone visit with Jan in October and she was very weak but her spirits were high, as always.
But the fact was she had been mostly bed-ridden for some time, needed oxygen around the clock and had a feeding tube, and even she knew the jig was up (she wouldn't mind me saying that!).
But still my heart is breaking.
Ann, I'm so sorry to read this news. I loved reading Jan's blog. She certainly exemplified the Japanese saying, "Fall down once, get up twice." I know you'll miss her dearly.
What a beautiful recollection of Cousin Jan!
I was gonna ask you 4 an update about Jan the other day when I had to suddenly leave early.
Her spirit, wisdom, strength, & humor remained high to her last day on this planet.
Ann, I feel her loss & can only imagine how much greater it must be for you & her loved ones. My condolences, to say the least.
May God rest her in peace.
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It's wonderful that you've found this way to pay tribute to her.
