January 1958: These people are Warren Giles Pres of Natl League, Walter O'Malley Dodger owner, & Don McMillan Pasa City Mgr, talking about Dodgers using Rose Bowl as a temporary home until Dodger Stadium was built for the now L.A. Dodgers.
Dodgers were also thinking about Wrigley Field (not the mansion!), and the Coliseum.
It is said O'Malley was spooked against using the Rose Bowl becuz of 1)the cost to renovate it for baseball use, 2)Prez Giles told him that if he went to Pasadena, then L.A. would still be available for an American league team:
NL President Warren Giles in Dec 1957 wrote a letter to Walter O’Malley warning him about playing outside the LA city limits!
My thot is, did L.A. city officials contact Giles to send such a letter to the Dodgers????
Yes, PB, and I could've said even more. But not without getting scolded!! My using whole foods words prob just indicates I was interested in that byte history.

Cafe P is sounding awfully knowledgeable about this. He even spelled out whole words for most of his comment. Hmm.

Ben and Cafe seem to have this one pegged. I like the picture. That's a very happy trio.
I think Ben and Cafe are bluffing.
