Looks like the christening of something - is the vehicle part of it? Pasadena's first school bus? Red Car? Motorized chassis for a Rose Parade float?

I'm stumped too. Miss America came to visit?

A silent movie star visits Pasadena in the 1920s?

Methinks I see a casket at the center. Could they be mourning the beginning of Prohibition? Trying to remember if cloche hats were already in by then....

The PIO is trying to tell us something: this is the last big Pasadena tribute for a retiring Pasadena employee.

This is a photo of a rare day at Santa Anita Racetrack when the horses went on strike so the ladies decided to run instead. The woman at the center was the winner. It wasn't official, just for fun, but it was really quite festive.
