Just a quik guesstimate:

Jackie Robinson's mother reading an old LA Herald-Examiner sports section of the newspaper. Looks like it may be about her son.

Jackie Robinson's mother reading about his induction into the baseball hall of fame, 1962.

Mother Mallie is reading an article about Buzzie Bavasi who played a leading role in getting African Americans assigned into the Dodger's farming system (Jackie being the first). Jackie goes on to credit his mother Mallie Robinson in another article.

But who's Bob? Jackie's brother's name was Mack.

Petrea, "Bob", can only be the great flamethrower, Bob Feller! They both went into the Hall in '62! How could you forget?!

And yes, again, mother Mallie Robinson. Reading back in Jan 1962, from here at her Pasadena residence.
