This pic screams late 70s early 80's, way to recent for jackie robinson. But right on time for the pride of the university of arizona, chris mcalister to be learning how to catch. maybe it was at the grand opening of robinson park?
Once again, pasadenapio has tricked you into guessing the obvious. Actually it is an early picture of Barack Obama. His mother was very interested in planning for Barack's future and began investigating colleges while he was still in elementary school. She was especially interested in the small liberal arts school, Occidental College, in Eagle Rock, and took a trip with young Barack to see how he would like the school. They obviously stayed in the best place, which was Pasadena. During their stay they came upon the Sunday softball games that used to happen regularly in Grant Park on Cordova Street. Here she is trying to teach Barack how not to drop the ball, a skill he learned only moderately well.

The Robinsons?
On Monday? Are you throwing us a curve ball? A change-up?
This is Mother Robinson and Jackie, playing with his very first ball and mitt at their house on Pepper Street.
Sorry, I meant to schedule it for Tuesday! I just realized my error. I'll just leave it up. Let the games begin!
Pasadena native and professional football player Chris McAlister as a child

I was going to guess the opening of the Robinson park too.
Interesting, Kevin, although I seem to recall that Obama's mother is white... :D
Kevin, I love your guesses. But you can't fool Kitty (or Ann).
I don't know who they are, but I'm sure likenarnia is correct, it's too late to be the Robinsons. It's a sweet shot.
