That is a very cool photo, but I haven't a clue where it is or what's happening. Can't wait to find out.

To me, that looks like that little grocery store way up on Allen--or is it Hill. And people are enjoying an icy cold Coca-Cola way back when.

Margaret, if you are right I will hang my head in shame. That market on Hill is just around the corner and down the street from me.

How about the first market in Pasadena. Which would put it somewhere near Colorado and Fair Oaks, in the 1890's.

Early 1900's foto of a grocery/bakery on 679 S.Fair Oaks here in Pasa. I pass this block regularly in search of, I don't know what...

Was owned by Carrie McAdoo, widow of Booker. This is basically across from Huntington Hosp.

They emigrated from Arkansaw to SoCal/Pas for, not Gold, but health reasons - one Big reason why we became the most populated state in the USA!

Booker the husband had TB. He also worked in a masseuse & bath house A connection? You tell me. But her husband died 1st, an unequality which still exists today! With her newfound free time, Carrie opened a bakery/grocery business.

I'm getting long-winded.
