It's the "Hookah Smokin' Caterpiller" hookah pipe factory, circa 1948. Ahead of its time.

I was going to say somebody or another at Cal Tech, but PA sounds so authoritative.

PA always sounds so authoritative - yes sir! So, I'm not gonna question authority. Although, she's in a tight race with Mr Earl.

I've recused myself because I'm in Holland, but if none of you get the answer by the deadline, I may just go for another biro. Karin keeps taking mine.

Wait. PA, you guessed twice? Your first answer was so good.

It's not Jack Parsons. He was dashing, dark and handsome.

Bellis, don't wait too long. You may be forced to win this one.

I like the idea of Jack Parsons, but I think this is the Dutch chemist Arie Haagen-Smit (not to be confused with Haagen-Dazs) in his lab at Caltech.
