These are hard!

I thought I knew all the recycling answers, but if I can put styrofoam in my recycle bin I'll be a happy (and surprised) Pasadenyite.

I'm looking at the "Recyling & Refuse Information" listed on the "Pasadena Recycles" Annual Trash schedule pamphlet we keep on our refrigerator for reference. Batteries, motor oil and computers are listed as household hazardous waste. Since Styrofoam is not listed as acceptable under "Blue Lid Recycling," we haven't been putting it into our bin. I want to, but the hubby won't let me because it's not on the list.

Are you saying I may? May I? Please?

You'll have to wait for the answers, Petrea, just like everybody else. Be patient!

Needed to do the bonus Q: Who's the pace car for the Doo Dah Parade?

Petrea Burchard said...

The Doo Dah Parade has a pace?

pasadenapio said...

For many years I had the honor of riding in the pace car for the Pasadena Doo Dah Parade. In all those years, I think it was only an actual car twice (a beat up VW convertible and a vintage Cadillac). It all started the year after Tom Coston took over as Doo Dah Czar and invited me to lead off the parade with him on foot. Then I got pneumonia and the doctor wouldn't let me walk the parade route, so I was in a flower-festooned wheelchair with a "Pace Car" sign on it. In subsequent years the pace car ranged from a 14-foot-tall high chair to a huge flower cart. Two years ago I said I would like to pass the torch and actually watch the parade. Apparently I am irreplaceable because there has not been a Doo Dah pace car since then.

How vetty fancifully interesting, Ann. All of these DooDah histoire de vive gauche I quite marvel on these pearls- being that I am an old lass.
